Two structures demolished at Parbotia Feeder Road of Ward No 7 in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: Acting on public complaints, the Executive Officer-cum-Magistrate of Tinsukia Municipality Niluram Sarma demolished two structures at Parbotia Feeder Road of Ward No 7 much to the relief of the residents of the locality. A boundary wall constructed at road junction was allegedly not in conformity with Municipal Rules and blocked the visibility. The place being prone to accident, public on several occasions raised objections but the landlord allegedly ignored public's inconveniences. In another case, a landlord intended to construct a slum illegally in front of a school without taking Municipal's permission. He continued to defy Municipality's order to demolish the illegal structure for the past one year, he allegedly even used political connections. Later the public approached the Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia Diganta Saikia at whose intervention, these structures were demolished.
