LAKHIMPUR: Retired Chief Secretary of Assam, the chairperson of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Boundary Commission, PP Verma, breathed his last on Thursday night due to COVID-19 infection. His demise of the retired IAS officer was deeply condoled by United Bodo People's Organization (UBPO).
In a condolence note, UBPO president Manoranjan Basumatari, general secretary Pitambar Brahma said, "PP Verma was an efficient and responsible administrative officer. He had been dedicatedly expediting the actions of the BTR Boundary Commission for re-determining the boundaries of the Bodoland Territorial Region for the resolution of the long standing Bodoland issue."
Expressing grief over his death, Manoranjan Basumatari and Pitambar Brahma prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extended sympathy to the bereaved family.
