
MANGALDAI: Biju Chetry (39), an inhabitant of village Borigaon Jangal under Udalguri Police Station in the Udalguri district, was found dead under mysterious conditions at Chapra in Bihar on June 3.
His family members in Udalguri informed that the deceased had been serving in a hotel at Kolar in Himachal Pradesh for the last 15 years and he used to visit his family members in Udalguri Borigaon Jangal from time to time. On June 2, he boarded the Amritsar- Tinsukia Express and on the way some unidentified miscreants made him drink after which he lost consciousness and later his body was found by a few persons of Chapra.
They informed the local police who took the body to the hospital for post-mortem examination. The family members eventually came to know about the incident after three days and sent some village youths to bring the body home. It has been alleged that the unidentified miscreants looted the belongings of the deceased, including his mobile phone and a cash amount of (approximately) Rs 22,000 and a bag full of clothes and documents. The deceased leaves behind his wife, two children, two brothers and parents. His mysterious death has widely been condoled in the locality. Meanwhile, the family members decided to lodge an FIR at Chapra after the receipt of the post-mortem report of the deceased.
