United political fight the only way to fulfill Bodofa’s dream: BKWAC CEM

KOKRAJHAR: Amidst the hot political atmosphere in BTC, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Boro Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC) Mihiniswar Basumatary on Monday called upon different political groups especially in BTC region to unite to fulfill the dreams of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma.

Talking to The Sentinel, Basumatary said that the Bodos will not achieve their goal unless the regional political parties get together and fight together to fulfill the dreams of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma. He said that leaders of different political parties take the name of Bodofa UN Brahma simply for political mileage but their actions were indifferent to what Bodofa really wanted for the society. He said that Bodofa dreamt for a strong foundation of the Bodos and other downtrodden communities bringing all backward communities together but many political party leaders take his name only for their gain.

Basumatary said, “Today’s political scenario of the Bodos is not what Bodofa dreamt for the Bodos. Our leaders have diverted from their main issues and are working under pressure of political diktat from Dispur.” He said that the political interference of national political parties was rampant in BTC which he said was not at all a good sign for the 6th schedule administration as the local ruling party was not given a free hand to run the council. He also said that working under extreme pressure from outside won’t help the 6th schedule BTC administration to achieve what they really want and their commitment to fulfill Bodofa’s dream will remain at stake. He further said that most of the 6th schedule councils of the Northeast had not achieved their goal after massive interference of national political parties as their issues get diluted with the national parties with national-level interests.

The BKWAC Chief said that the time had come for the Bodo political parties to come together on a single platform to really fulfil the dreams of Bodofa. He also called upon different Bodo political parties of BTC to stop mudslinging at each other, to get rid of external political influences in BTC political matters, and go ahead with joined hands to save the true meaning of 6th schedule administration.
