Silchar: COVID-19 warriors and plasma donors from BSF, social activists and journalist stood on one platform for the honours bestowed on them by Vivekananda Kanyakumari Kendra (VKK) of Karimganj. On this great occasion, educationist Lopamudra Choudhury, coordinator of the Kendra, calling the BSF jawans as true patriots, said, "These brave and valiant soldiers on the frontline are not only protecting the borders of the country, but also setting exemplary examples by donating plasma to save human lives. They deserve to be complimented profoundly." She exhorted the members of the VKK to salute the great heroes and warriors. They are the pride and glory of the nation. Lopamudra Choudhury pointed out the greatest problem around the globe today is COVID-19 pandemic and the best and most effective way to defeat it is plasma.

Swami Vivekananda's message of love and brotherhood is best carried on by social activists for their unflinching commitment to serve the society. During the critical hours following the COVID-19 pandemic and in normal time, they have shown how to stand by common people and help them. So are the responsible journalists who are looked upon with respect for highlighting the hopes and aspirations of people in its true perspective. The felicitated Jawans, social workers and journalist are the source of inspiration to others to come forward and donate plasma. This is how Arup Roy, senior journalist and a frontline member of Karimganj VKK, heaped eulogy on the warriors and donors.

At a most solemn and sublime function presided over by Dr Mrinal Kanti Dutta Biswas held in the premises of VKK here recently, 10 BSF Jawans, 2 social workers and 1 journalist were accorded warm felicitation. BSF Jawans included Tej Bahadur Singh, Surendra Swami, Pranay Sarkar, Narendra Kumar, Murli Dhar Sany, Chandan Kumar, Narendra Kumar, Jash Raj Singh, deputy commandant Biswaram Meena and Nandu Lal. Journalist Biswakalyan Purkayastha, social workers, Alok Das and Piyush Kumar Deb were also felicitated. All these brave hearts were presented with citations and gifts. The programme began with garlanding of the portrait of Swami Vivekananda and lighting of auspicious lamp by Swami Provasanandaji Maharaj of Karimganj Ram Krishna Mission.
