SILCHAR: In a rare instance, Assam government cancelled its earlier notification and reinstated an ACS officer to her earlier post three months after her application for voluntary retirement was acccepted. The notification, signed by Tanmoy Pratim Bargohain, secretary, Personnel department said, Jessica R Lalsim, joint secretary to the Barak Valley Mini Secretariat would resume her duty with immediate effect. Lalsim, who had been working in Cachar for a long period, had joined on Tuesday.
Lalsim who was on multiple charges including the Executive Officer of Silchar Municipal Board surprisingly applied for VRS (Voluntary Retirement Scheme) last March and a notification dated March 25 allowed her to go for voluntary retirement. Interestingly after three months the earlier notification was revoked and Lalsim was reinstated.
Further, the period she was in 'voluntary retirement' would be treated as leave, the new notification said. Lalsim reportedly informed her close circuit that she had not applied for revocation of her earlier petition for voluntary retirement. Sources in district administration hinted that Lalsim went on VRS after she was openly rebuked by a ruling party MLA.
