Warm clothes distributed to needy people in Sivasagar
The NGO, SAVED has been collecting old and usable clothes from the people through ‘Cloth Bank’ since last year and distributing them among the needy.

SIVASAGAR: Under the initiative of SAVED, a leading voluntary organization of Sivasagar and in collaboration with the Jengonikotia Child Protection Committee, warm clothes were distributed among the underprivileged people living on the streets of Sivasagar town on Monday. The programme was formally inaugurated by Mrinali Konwar, Chairperson of Sivasagar Municipal Board, in front of Shiv Dol.
The NGO, SAVED has been collecting old and usable clothes from the people through 'Cloth Bank' since last year and distributing them among the needy. In today's programme, the organization distributed new blankets and usable old clothes to hundreds of needy people ranging from children to elderly persons.
Launching the programme, Mrinali Konwar expressed hope that the initiative taken by the voluntary organization SAVED would help the people living on the footpaths in the unbearable cold of winter. She also urged upon the people to come forward to help the poor in increasing winter chill.
The programme was attended by a number of dignitaries including Debajyoti Gogoi, Director of the voluntary organization, Atikur Rahman, President of Jengonikotia Child Protection Committee, Asfi Ullah, secretary of the NGO and others.
