West Kamrup DFO Dimpy Bora launches crackdown against illegal sand mining, timber business

BOKO: West Kamrup DFO Dimpy Bora and her forest protection team launched several operations recently against illegal sand mining and illegal timber business and got massive success.

On Thursday, DFO Dimpy Bora along with the forest protection team launched an operation against illegal timber supply at Hahim area under Singra Forest Range. A Tata Yodha vehicle (AS 25CC 8148) loaded with illegal sawn timber at Hahim area was seized and three accused were arrested by the Protection Squad. On the other hand, the DFO and her forest team recently closed 27 illegal timber shops in Sontoli and Mahtoli area under Nagarbera Forest Range.

On Wednesday, DFO Dimpy Bora along with the forest protection team launched an operation against illegal sand mining in Roumari area under Singra Forest Range and seized seven sand extraction machines from Singra River.
