BOKAKHAT: A tragic incident occurred on Friday morning on National Highway 37 at Hatikhuli in Kaziranga National Park, where a wild buffalo lost its life after being hit by a speeding night bus. The buffalo, which had come out of the park and was attempting to cross the highway, was struck near the Pub Haladhibari forest camp by a night bus bearing registration number AR20E2577. Forest officials from the park immediately reached the site and took necessary measures to conduct a post-mortem examination of the dead animal. Although the park authorities have implemented speed control measures on National Highway 37, which passes through Kaziranga National Park, some buses and heavy vehicles continue to travel at excessive speeds.
