KOKRAJHAR: The Pramod Boro-led BTR government was expanded on Thursday by inducting two more MCLAs in the Executive Council. Nominated candidate Wilson Hasda and MCLA from Bodoland People's Front (BPF) from Manas Serfang, who recently joined the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL), was elevated to Executive Member (EM).

The Principal Secretary of BTC, Shantanu P. Gotmare administered the office oath of secrecy in the presence of Chief Executive Member (CEM) of BTC, Pramod Boro, deputy chief Gobinda Chandra Basumatary and EMs at the Assembly Hall.

Talking to reporters, the CEM of the council, Pramod Boro said that his Executive Council had got two more EMs for better administration and smooth running of the departments. He said that Wilson Hasda, nominated member, and Dhananjay Basumatary, MCLA, had been inducted as EMs in his cabinet. "My government has completed six months but for smooth running of departments to bring effective development, there was need for expansion of cabinet," he said.

Boro said that his council had been giving emphasis on the solution of problems in the education sector. He assured that he would look into the problems of secondary TET qualified candidates and within the next week he would distribute appointment letter.

Replying to question on the budget to be received from the Government of Assam, Boro said that the Centre, State Government and the BTR council were governments of coalition. "This is the critical time for COVID-19 pandemic, but despite this fact, the Centre and State Government must overcome the problems and the BTR will also go on with the situation," he said, adding that he had high hopes of receiving required amount of fund from the State for bringing more development in the region. He, however, said they had to manage over Rs. 2300 crore liability of the previous government, which was a matter of concern for them.

Boro said that his council was going to sign an agreement with a super specialty hospital of Chennai for the welfare of critical patients from the BTR area so that they could get affordable treatment.
