Workshop on Bodo-Dimasa Heritage Digital archives in Kokrajhar
National Institute of Bodology (NIB), Kokrajhar organized a workshop on Bodo-Dimasa- Digital Heritage Archive on January 13 at NIB office

KOKRAJHAR: National Institute of Bodology (NIB), Kokrajhar organized a workshop on Bodo-Dimasa- Digital Heritage Archive on January 13 at NIB office in presence of their collaborator Prof. Christina Wasson from University of North Texas, USA along with her Research Assistant Lena Pham.
This project started on 2020 with the scholars Dr. Bihung Brahma from CIT Kokrajhar and Dr. Prafulla Basumatary from Gauhati University who are now associated with NIB Kokrajhar. Prof. Christina is an anthropologist who is specialized in designed Anthropology and presently facilitating to archive Bodo and Dimasa Heritage items. Prof. Christina informed that they are using Mukurtu platform to archive the heritage items which is community-based, participatory and applied anthropology. This archive will be useful for the communities who are concerned about loss of traditional knowledge due to passing of older generations.
In the workshop, the Research Assistants of NIB and other volunteers from community members participated and learned to prepare the contents and upload the materials on the archive. The NIB hopes that the Heritage Digital Archive for Bodo and Dimasa will be useful in the long run.
