Xattradhikar Haren Chandra Mahanta Passes Away in Jorhat

JORHAT: Haren Chandra Mahanta, the Xattradhikar of Purushuttam Xatra in Koronga in Jorhat district passed away on Friday night at the xatra premises here, said family sources. He was 63 and leaves behind a daughter and son. Haren Chandra Mahanta was a teacher, social worker and a cultural activist who was actively associated with Jorhat Sanskriti Mancha, Jorhat Drama Academy, and Jorhat Theatre. His demise was widely mourned.
