TINSUKIA: As a prelude to the observance of 8th International Yoga Day on June 21, the National Ayush Mission, Tinsukia, in collaboration with Tinsukia district administration and Purbanchal Sewa Bharati, organized a yoga competition on Thursday at Golapchandra Rabichandra Natya Mandir, Tinsukia.

The programme was inaugurated by Dipu Deka, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Health), in the presence of Dr Romen Sonowal, Joint Director of District Health Services, Tinsukia and Dr Moniram Kalita, Nodal Officer Ayush. Around 52 participants participated in the competition from different parts of the district. There were four categories in the competition.

The Directorate of AYUSH, Assam is organizing Assam Yoga Competition 2022 in sync with observance of International Day of Yoga with an aim to create awareness and to motivate people at the grassroots level for adopting yoga in their day-to-day life.
