Young swimmer Priyangshi brings glory to Jamugurihat with three medals

JAMUGURIHAT: Priyangshi Saikia, a student of Sankar-Madhab Swimming Club of Jamugurihat, and a resident of Jamugurihat, participated in 3rd Golaghat Open All Assam Swimming Championship organized by Golaghat District Swimming Association under the aegis of Assam Swimming Association, which was held at Nargaon Swimming Pool, Jugibari, with a two-day schedule on October 25 and 26. Priyangshi brought laurels to Jamugurihat area by winning three medals, bronze medal in 50 meter freestyle, silver medal in 50 meter breast stroke, and bronze in 100 meter freestyle. She acquired the training in swimming under the guidance of Sankar Boishya, Kandarpa Hazarika, Bedanta Hazarika, Dhrubajyoti Boishya, Biplab Bora, and her father Ranjit Saikia. Organizations and individuals of the greater Jamugurihat area lauded her achievement.
