Youth arrested for kidnapping minor girl in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR: The Sivasagar police on Sunday arrested a youth from Sepon area of Sivasagar for kidnapping a minor girl. The accused has been identified as Bichitra Ruhi Das (18) of Betbari Alimur in Sivasagar.

The15-year-old girl's family lodged a complaint, based on which the Sivasagar police started investigations to trace the girl and accordingly arrested the youth from Sepon area. The girl's mother alleged that her daughter was kidnapped with the intention of taking her to Hyderabad. The police have taken the youth into custody and a case has been registered against the youth u/s IPC 366.
