‘Yuva Rojgar Manch’ organized by National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology, Guwahti

TEZPUR: National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Guwahti, under Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, in association with National Career Service Centre for SC/ST, Guwahati, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, and Edupur, Employment Services Pvt. Ltd. organized a Job Fair 2023 “Yuva Rojgar Manch”- Sashakt Yuva, Sashakt Rashtraat in online mode for the remote students of Kokrajhar, Silchar, Tezpur, Dibrugarh, Jorhat & Majuli and campus interview at the premises of NIELIT City Centre, AIRT & SC Building, Jawahar Nagar, Khanapara, Guwahati.

The job fair was aimed to provide a platform for placement opportunity to the various job seekers who have been trained through NIELIT & NCS for SC/ST in different courses in IT, Electronics, Soft Skills etc. and further give the students an opportunity and exposure to interact with the company’s representatives directly and understand the requirements and gather the experience of facing an interview.

The job fair was attended by Dr. Indrani Gogoi, Training and Placement Officer,

Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Assarn, Arvind Ramteke, Assistant Director,

National Career Service Centre (NCSC) for SC/STs, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, Dip Kumar Kalita, Senior Journalist, Amit Raj Konwar, Director & CO, Edupur Group, along with senior officials and staff of NIELIT Guwahati. More than 400 candidates registered and appeared for the scheduled two days online and campus interviews and all together 24 companies from different sectors such as IT, Bioinformatics, Insurance, Automobile, FMCG, and Retail etc participated and conducted the placement interview. Few shortlisted candidates from the IT background also got an opportunity to face an online interview for a Singapore based company.

Out of all the candidates interviewed by different companies from different sectors more than 140 students have been shortlisted for different job roles in different sectors. Further, NIELIT Guwahati proposed to conduct similar job fairs in the forthcoming months for the greater interest of the student and job seekers of this region, stated a press release.
