DIBRUGARH: In a significant step toward promoting maternal health and nutrition, Zaloni Ladies Club (ZLC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tengakhat MG model hospital on Monday.
This MoU outlines a collaborative initiative to provide nutritious food packets to pregnant women attending monthly check-ups under the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA), a flagship maternal health programme by the Government of India.
Under this initiative, ZLC will donate food packets on the 19th of each month, ensuring regular nutritional support for expectant mothers accessing antenatal care at the hospital.
This initiative reflects ZLC’s enduring commitment to empowering women and supporting vulnerable communities through health, education, and welfare initiatives.
The MoU was formally signed by Geety Rekha Phukan, President of Zaloni Ladies Club, and Sanghamitra Borah, Deputy Superintendent of Tengakhat MG Model Hospital.
Established in 1962, Zaloni Ladies Club has a legacy of service, focusing on education, health, and nutrition for marginalized groups. This partnership marked another step forward towards reaffirming ZLC’s commitment to community well-being and its mission to serve society through compassionate action and collaboration.
