After Assaulted With Sharp-Edged Weapons Father Dies, Son Critical

Silchar: Three motorcycle-borne youths swooped on an old man aged 65 identified as Siraj Uddin and his son Ajim Uddin and assaulted them mercilessly with sharp-edged weapons at the village of Makhan Nagar under Jirighat police station in the morning hours on Wednesday. This gory incident happened in front of 440 Makhan Nagar L P School. Under the impact of brutal assault, Siraj and Ajim fell down on the ground in a pool of blood. On receiving information, SDPO Anurag Sharma along with O/C Manoj Rajbongshi of Jirighat police station along with a posse of police reached the spot.

Siraj succumbed to his fatal injuries. His son Ajim was rushed to Silchar Medical College and Hospital where his condition is stated to be critical. The assailants made their escape good. Their houses were raided by the police team from there two bikes used by the assailants were recovered from their houses. The reason behind the bloody feud is believed to be family affairs. Anurag Sharma is confident of nabbing the assailants who are yet to be identified.
