Section 144 CrPC Imposed in Hailakandi District

Hailakandi: Hailakandi district administration has promulgated Section 144 CrPC in the district in view of Kali Puja and Diwali on Sunday and Monday. In order to this effect has been issued by District Magistrate Keerthi Jalli on Thursday.

The order prohibits performing puja in public places without prior permission of competent authority, blockade of roads and public playgrounds, sale or purchase of fireworks, bursting of firecrackers causing noise pollution, forcible collection of donation, gambling of any kind, use of loudspeakers without permission and unauthorized way of getting electric connection for any purpose. The prohibition is imposed as a measure of precaution and peaceful celebrations of Kali Puja and Diwali says the order.
