GUWAHATI: Assam suffered narrow defeat in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Cricket Tournament against Haryana. Haryana won the tie by three wickets with just two balls to spare. Rode on a quick half-century from Riyan Parag (58, 31 balls, 6X6, 4X1) and good knock from Pallav Das (43, 4X4, 6X2) Assam piled up 158-8 in their 20 overs. Haryana chased the target in 19.4 overs losing 7 wickets. Harshal Patel (62, 34 balls, 4X9, 6X3) played a good knock and alone guided his team to victory. Among the bowlers of Assam Pritam Kumar Das picked up two wickets for 25 runs. IANS
