Former national footballer Ghanada Nath Mondal passed away in the city after prolonged illness. He was 84. Ghanada, who represented Assam in Santosh Trophy during 1961and 62 season, turned out for city giants like Gauhati Town club and Maharana Club in local football.

GUWAHATI: Former national footballer Ghanada Nath Mondal passed away in the city after prolonged illness. He was 84. Ghanada, who represented Assam in Santosh Trophy during 1961and 62 season, turned out for city giants like Gauhati Town club and Maharana Club in local football. Later he was associated with soccer referring and earned national referee badge too.
