Golaghat Lift I-D Volleyball C'ship Title

The minister president of UBPO Manuranjan Bssumatary gave away the championship trophy along with Rs 25,000 and also handed over the runner-up trophy along with Rs 15,000.

Kokrajhar: Golaghat emerged champion in the 1st Inter-District Volleyball Championship, organised by Sports Section of United Bodo People's Organization (UBPO), at Langhin Tinali in Karbi Anglong on Saturday evening by defeating Karbi Anglong in the final.

Golaghat dominated the opponent and all three sets were won by Golaghat. They reached final defeating Goalpara in semifinal while Karbi Anglong (A) entered the final defeating Karbi Anglong (B) team.

The CEM of Boro Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC) Mihiniswar Basumatary inaugurated the final match. Sports Secretary of UBPO Pwilao Mashahary, Assistant Secretaries Rupeswar Boro, Sanjay Boro and David Daimary conducted the match. As many as ten teams from various districts of Assam took part in the championship.
