Lovlina Borgohain gifted luxury car by Renault India

Online Staff/GUWAHATI: India's boxing sensation Lovlina Borgohain, who won the bronze medal in Tokyo Olympics, was on Friday presented a brand new car by Renault India. The key of the luxury car, a Renault KIGER, was handed over to the boxer by Sudhir Malhotra, Vice President – Sales & Marketing of the company in a function held in Guwahati. Lovlina, who participated in the Welterweight category in Women Boxing, won a bronze medal from the Tokyo Olympics. It was the first occasion when an athlete from Assam won a medal from the Olympics. After receiving the key of the car Lovlina in a brief reaction said, "This is my first car and I am happy about it. This car will help my parents to travel. I shall also use it to go for training."

Malhotra also spoke a few words at the function. "Lovlina made us proud with her stunning performance on the world stage. Hope she will bring more laurels for the country," said the official.

Meanwhile sharing her future plan at the side line of the function the Arjuna Awardee boxer said, "I have set a new goal and it is to bring a gold medal from the Paris Olympics. I will work hard and will take the help of modern and scientific training to reach that goal."

The boxer also denied that she would be under pressure in the next Olympics because of her medal in Tokyo. "I always believe in hard work and serious training. If I can keep focus on it I feel there would be no pressure on me in Paris," said the boxer.

Commenting on her special celebration after the pre quarterfinal bout in Tokyo Lovlina said, "It was spontaneous and there were reasons also. I lost four times to that boxer earlier. On the other hand, the victory ensured my medal in the Tokyo Olympics."
