Guwahati: Unseeded Ritik Rout caused upset by defeating second seed Jishnu Protim Das 8-6 in the pre-quarter final in the Boys' Singles (under 14years) in the 23rd India Club-AnupLahoty Open Tennis Championship – 2021 which got under way today.

The Championship, inaugurated by president of India Club BijanChoudhori, is being organised for Boys' and Girls' Singles U-14 and 18 years, Gentleman Singles and Senior Gentlemen's Doubles (above 35, 45 and 55 years) categories respectively. Cash scholarship will be awarded from quarterfinal stage in the U-14 and 18 years categories only.
