Sports culture & community support to game mesmerize ace shuttler

The kind of support the family, community and club is wonderful to witness," emphasized Indian badminton legend, Pullela Gopichand interacting with press reporters at the sidelines of ICR Solung Festival Football Tourney -2022 underway at AAPBn ground on Friday evening.

Gopichand, who is on his maiden visit to the state to attend the 9th DK State Level Memorial Badminton Championship-2022, visited and witnessed the final of the Veteran's match of the ongoing ICR Solung festival Football Tourney -2022.

He said that here games are not only played as competition but are celebrated and with such enthusiasm, I have seen them here today.

"Sport is a great unifying factor and I would say there is no better example than this festival," he said.

Meanwhile, Moying Raseng VFC lifted the Veteran football championship trophy by defeating Donggin Raseng VFC by 7-0. Matoni Padung and Osup Megu scored 3 and 2 goals each for Moying Raseng.

Maklek Taki and Nenu Eko contributed one goal each.

Maechal Lego and Lenging Taggu were declared the best player and goalkeepers. Medals and trophies were also awarded to winner and runner-up teams by Pullela Gopichand and Arunachal Olympic Association, General secretary, Bamang Tago.
