Sports organizers extend aids to fight COVID-19 in Assam

GUWAHATI: Sports organizers continued to extend their helping hand to combat COVID-19 in the State. In response to the appeal from the Assam Olympic Association three sports bodies- Assam Kho-Kho Association, Guwahati Cricket Coaching Center (GCCC) and “Explorers” a leading Adventure Organization of Assam- today jointly distributed food materials for 7 days to about 150 families at Pamohi under Gorchuk Police Station. Several sports organizers like Rajib Prakash Baruah, Pranoy Bordoloi, cricket coach Nabab Ali, the secretary of the Assam Olympic Association Lakhya Konwar and Suprativ Baruah, ADCP, were present on this occasion and monitored the distribution. Earlier city based Sunrise Club also took similar steps to distribute food items to the needy person.

Meanwhile Karbi Anglong Sports Association (KASA) donated Rs 50,000 to the CEM Relief fund. General Secretary of KASA Pankaj Teron, joint secretary Bishnu Ram Nunisa and other members of the association met CEM of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Tuliram Ronghang and handed over the cheque. Earlier Assam Weightlifting Association and Assam Body Builders and Fitness Association contributed Rs 1.06 lakh to CM Relief Fund.
