U-17 FIFA Women World Cup Camp likely to resume in Goa this month

GUWAHATI: If everything goes according to the plan then the training camp of Indian probables for the forthcoming U-17 FIFA Women World Cup will resume in Goa this month. Earlier the camp was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A source from the All India Football Federation informing the news said that players like hockey, athletics have already resumed training post COVID-19 lockdown. International boxers also started to return Patiala to resume their training.

All India Football Federation also planned to start the training camp for the probables of the U-17 FIFA Women World Cup. The source informed that the players, who will join the camp, would have to go COVID-19 Test first and it is mandatory.

It may be mentioned here that India will host the next edition of the U-17 FIFA Women World Cup which will be held in 2021. Five cities, including Guwahati, will host the events. The tournament will kick off on February 17 in Guwahati and the final is slated for March 7 in Navi Mumbai.
