Veer Ahlawat shines as Indian Oil Servo Masters Golf 2019 concludes

DIGBOI: The 20th edition of Indian Oil Servo Masters Golf meet concluded successfully today at Golf Links, Digboi which was organized under the aegis of the professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) and hosted by AOD Digboi. The 23-year-old Veer Ahlawat from Haryana emerged as the winner.

The Pro-Am event of the tournament was won by professional Sachin Baisoya and his team. This event was played in the Team Stableford format with each team comprising of one professional and three amateurs. Delhi-based professional Sachin Baisoya led his team to victory in the Pro-Am event with a total score of 109 points. Baisoya’s team comprised of amateurs Sandeep Sankar Regan, Dr. U K Saikia, and M Ravishankar.

Sri Lankan professional Mithun Perera’s team finished first runners-up with a total of 107 points. Perera’s team was made up of amateurs Ajoy Baruah, Mridul Shyam, and Devraj Deb.

Gurugram-based professional Shivendra Singh Sisodia’s team were second runners-up with a total of 105 points. The amateurs in Sisodia’s team were Vijay Ariel, Navin Kumar, and C R Baruah.

The prize for the longest drive on hole no. 11 was won by Biju Saikia whose drive landed at a distance of 271 yards while the prize for the straightest drive on hole no. 5 was won by C R Baruah. His drive landed one foot and five inches from the center of the fairway.

The Incredible India Closest to the Pin contest on hole no. 16 was won by Prantor Baruah. His tee shot landed three feet and four inches from the pin and the contest for the best individual Stableford points (for amateurs) was won by Lt. Col. Piyush Mahajan. He scored 40 points.

Sandeep S John, Executive Director, IOCL (AOD) Digboi Refinery presented the winners cheque and the iconic trophy to Veer Ahlawat in presence of Sandeep Sharma, CGM ( Branding) IOCL, S Kanti, CGM (T), Amar Jyoti Saikia, GM ZS, Biswajit Hazarika, GM (M&C), Hitajit Bhattacharyya, GM HR, Uttam Mundy, CEO PGTI, senior officials, guests and golfers. The runners up the place were tied between Mukesh Kumar of Mhow and M Dharma from Bengaluru.
