IMPHAL: The Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) has filed a complaint with the cybercrime police station following the leak of the Class 10 Social Science question paper during the ongoing High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination. BOSEM Secretary S. Jitelal confirmed that an investigation has been initiated to identify and take action against those responsible, as per reports.

Jitelal stated that a meeting of board officials was convened to discuss the matter, but no decision has been taken yet regarding the cancellation of the examination, which was conducted on Tuesday. He assured that BOSEM is taking all necessary measures to uphold the integrity of the examination process.

“In relation to the question paper leak on Tuesday during the ongoing HSLC examination, the board is doing everything within its power to ensure the proper conduct of the exam. Some individuals, aiming to harm the reputation of BOSEM, leaked the question paper before the exam started,” Jitelal said, strongly condemning the incident.

He further added that a complaint has been lodged with the state cybercrime police station, and an investigation is underway. “Those responsible will be arrested soon,” he asserted.

The Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM), a student organization, also raised concerns over the leak. During a press briefing, DESAM Secretary General Nongthombam Thoithoiba revealed that the Social Science question paper was circulated on social media platforms, including two WhatsApp groups, around 8:30 am—just half an hour before the exam began at 9:00 am. DESAM has demanded strict action against the perpetrators to prevent such incidents in the future.
