Manipur: Clash Between UNLF And Arambai Tenggol In Imphal Leaves Four Injured

IMPHAL: In a significant incident, four United National Liberation Front (UNLF) cadres were injured in a clash in Kongpal Chingangbam Leikai, close to Kongpal Thong, on March 22.

The incident occurred when a group of 15 to 20 individuals, suspected to be members of the Arambai Tenggol (AT) group, entered the residence of Irengbam Nandakumar Singh, a 56-year-old alleged UNLF functionary, triggering a violent altercation.

During the altercation, sticks were allegedly used to inflict blunt force injuries on the UNLF(P) cadres. It's unclear if the incident caused any injuries, despite allegations that some rounds of gunfire were exchanged.

Security forces responded promptly, deploying teams to the scene. The injured UNLF(P) cadres were detained and transported to a hospital for treatment. According to medical reports, their injuries were non-life-threatening, consisting solely of blunt trauma, with no gunshot wounds. The cadres are currently in stable condition.

Following the incident, security forces conducted a raid on the Arambai Tenggol Unit-17 office in Khurai, Imphal East district, based on intelligence received.

During the operation, they found incriminating items such as hunting boots, four-wheelers, BP plates, helmets, jackets, suspected heroin, rifle slings, tactical belts, mobile phones, magazine pouches, wireless handsets, chargers, tear gas smoke shells, bayonets, swords, stallion boxes, knee caps, AT-Unit 17 banners/boards, camouflage clothing, military jackets, used cartridges, live rounds, and incriminating documents.
