DERGAON: Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh urged the newly inducted personnel of the 10th and 11th Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) to promote harmony and unity among all communities, reflecting the camaraderie they displayed during their training in Assam.

The Manipur CM made these remarks at the Passing Out Parade held at the Lachit Borphukan Police Academy in Dergaon, Assam.

Speaking at the event, CM Singh emphasized the need for harmony among communities, especially given the challenges Manipur is currently facing.

He stated, “We all need to share the stories of love and the harmonious atmosphere experienced during training with our families when we return. The government plans to post personnel by mixing individuals from all communities across the state. Once we take the oath and don the uniform, we are not just members of a community but soldiers of the nation.”

The Chief Minister expressed optimism that the deployment of the newly trained personnel would aid in restoring peace and normalcy in Manipur. “It brings immense joy to see you all after months of rigorous training. Your efforts will significantly contribute to maintaining law and order in the state. The government is committed to achieving peace, and your service will play an important role in this mission,” he said.

The training in Assam was made possible through the full cooperation of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Director General of Police (DGP) G.P. Singh.

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh emphasized that the recruitment was undertaken to strengthen security along Manipur’s national highways, which have witnessed several incidents in recent years.

He also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Home Minister and current Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for their support in approving the recruitment drive.

The Passing Out Parade was graced by a 23-member delegation led by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh. The delegation included six state ministers, Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba, the Home Commissioner, Assam DGP G.P. Singh, Special DGP Harmeet Singh, and senior Army officers.
