Imphal: "Social media is indeed a boon for those who use it in a right way," says Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh after being able to help rescue a cow stuck in a pile hole of a construction site. CM Singh received a WhatsApp text around 10 PM on Sunday night from one L.Benny from Uripok, Imphal West.
Benny requested the CM to help a cow being struck in a pile hole of a construction site. Acting on the information, a team of Manipur Fire Service and Imphal West Police reached the spot and helped in the rescuing the cow. The cow is rescued and is out of danger now, said CM Singh.
Taking it to Twitter, CM Singh wrote:
"Just received a whatsapp msg from one L. Benny from Uripok, Imphal West requesting me to help a cow being struck in a pile hole of a construction site. A team of Manipur Fire Service & Imphal West police immediately reached the spot and rescued the cow & she is out of danger now."
In another tweet, Singh thanked the Superintendent of Police of Imphal West and Fire Service for their prompt response to save a life.
"I thank my Imphal West SP and Fire Service for their prompt response to save a life. It gives me immense satisfaction to receive a thanking note from Benny as well. Social media is indeed a boon for those who use it in a right way," Singh tweeted.
Earlier on Sunday, CM Singh also tested positive for coronavirus. He has requested everyone those who came in contact with him recently to self-isolate and get tested.
He wrote, "I have tested positive for COVID-19. I request all those who came in close contact with me recently, to self isolate and get tested."
Union Home Minister Amit Shah called CM Singh to check up on his health.
