Manipur Police Seize Large Cache Of Illegal Liquor In Pallel

Manipur police seized illegal liquor during a drive in Pallel area, Kakching district, recovering liquor bottles and 186 liters of local liquor. Items were handed over to the Excise department.

IMPHAL: As part of a search and area domination operation, Manipur police conducted a liquor drive in Pallel area, under the jurisdiction of Pallel Police Station in Kakching district, and seized various illegal liquor items.

On Saturday afternoon, a team from the Kakching police station targeted the illegal liquor trade at Pallel bazaar. During the operation, the police seized 15 quarter bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), 8 full bottles of IMFL, 21 half bottles of IMFL, and 186 liters of locally made country liquor.

No one was arrested during the drive, and the seized items were given to the Excise department for legal action. A case has been registered in connection with the operation.

The drive, carried out on the second day of the operation, follows a similar liquor drive conducted on Friday at Zoveng area under Churachandpur Police Station in Churachandpur District, where several illicit liquor bottles were also seized.

Meanwhile, earlier last week, two women drug peddlers were arrested by a team of the Special Task Force (STF) Assam, after raids were conducted based on credible intelligence. The operation took place at two separate places at 14th Mile which falls under the jurisdiction of Sonapur Police Station.

During the operation, the STF Assam team recovered 7.292 kgs of what is suspected to be ganja, 355 bottles of IMFL of different brands which was made to be sold in Meghalaya only, 30 pre-rolled cones of congo and 44 Gogo ultra-thin paper which are used in the consumption of ganja.
