Sarungbam Athouba, who earned the first medal for Manipur in Triathlon, secured another Gold in Duathlon. In Wushu, Oinam Malemnganbi and T. Saya Chanu each won Gold medals.

T. Saya Chanu claimed the Gold in the Women’s Changquan event, while Oinam Malemnganbi triumphed in Taijiquan. Additionally, Marshal Salam and K. Panthoi Devi won Silver medals in their respective Wushu categories, further boosting Manipur's medal tally at the Games.

Meanwhile, the Assam women’s team reached the semi-finals of the Beach Handball competition at the 38th National Games in Rishikesh, securing a 2-0 win over Maharashtra on Wednesday.

This victory marked their second win after a tough start in the group stage, where they lost 2-0 to Haryana but bounced back with a win against Uttarakhand.

Also, Assam swimmers, including Astha Choudhury, Jhanabi Kashyap, and Bikram Changmai, competed in the swimming events in Haldwani but failed to secure any medals. Despite making it to the finals, none of the swimmers were able to finish on the podium.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 38th National Games in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, marking the Silver Jubilee year of the state’s formation. The event is being held across 11 cities in 8 districts of Uttarakhand.
