14 years Rigorous Imprisonment to one under POCSO Act 2012

SHILLONG: One Henry Diengdoh was awarded 14 years rigorous imprisonment (RI) under section 6 of the POCSO Act 2012, for raping a minor girl on July 2, 2013. The sentence was passed by Special Judge ((POCSO), East Khasi Hills district, Noor Ain Khan. The sentence also carries a fine of Rs 5,000 and in default of payment, the convict shall further undergo three months of simple imprisonment. Further, the court has also recommended a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the victim by the State Government.
