211 more COVID-19 cases in Meghalaya

SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Sunday registered 211 new COVID-19 cases and registered no death.

Meanwhile, the State also recorded 74 new recovered cases in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of recovered cases has reached 83,740.

The tally of active cases has increased to 1,128, the Health Department said in a bulletin.

The total number of fatalities from COVID-19 stands at 1,490 so far.

East Khasi Hills has the highest number of active cases with 886. West Khasi Hills has 16 cases, East Garo Hills has three cases, West Garo Hills has 95 cases, Ri-Bhoi has 63 cases, West Jaintia Hills has 21 cases, East Jaintia Hills has 24 cases, South West Khasi Hills has nine cases, South Garo Hills has three cases, and North Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills have four cases each. The 211 new COVID-19 cases are from East Khasi Hills (163), East Jaintia Hills (14), Ri-Bhoi (four), West Jaintia Hills (five), West Garo Hills (18), North Garo Hills (two), West Khasi Hills (three), and South West Garo Hills and East Garo Hills (one each). The 74 recovered cases are from East Khasi Hills (59), Ri-Bhoi (two), West Garo Hills (12) and West Jaintia Hills (one).
