SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Thursday registered 211 new COVID-19 cases, which pushed the tally of active cases to 2,275, the health department said in a bulletin.

Meanwhile, the State also recorded 192 new recovered cases in last 24 hours, with this the total recovered cases reached 72,714. Meanwhile, one more person succumbed to the infection during the last 24 hours, taking total number of fatalities from COVID-19 infection to 1,322 so far. Notification on supply of rice : The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District has informed the public consumers that rice under PMGKAY for NFSA households (AAY and PHH) for the month of September, 2021 is being released through the Fair Price Shops and will be distributed free of cost at the scale of 5 kgs per head. All Fair Price shops are to distribute the quota as soon as the stock arrives and to display the list of beneficiaries and the timing of operation in their respective shops.

Any non-supply, supply of less prescribed scale or inferior quality may be reported to the office of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong.
