WILLIAMNAGAR: East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Jagdish Chelani, had issued an advisory regarding the thunderstorms and lightning, accompanied by heavy rainfall, that were very likely in isolated areas of the district beginning March 22 and set up a control room with helpline numbers for emergency response, rescue, and relief, etc, stated a press release.
The district control room set up at Williamnagar may be contacted at the helpline number, 600-9076-318. The other control rooms have been set up at the block headquarters of all three C and RD blocks in the district.
