Anti-Corruption and Human Development Organisation Demands Immediate Repair Of Chibinang To Phulbari

SHILLONG: The Anti-Corruption and Human Development Organisation (ACHDO) has demanded immediate repair of the Ampati-Mahendraganj-Phulbari-Tikrikilla road. According to the ACHDO, the dilapidated road which stretches from Chibinang to Phulbari has turned into potholes.

“The road is in such a condition that one can’t imagine what happens to those who have to go to Goalpara and Guwahati in Assam for medical purposes during emergency,” the organization stated.

According to the ACHDO, the road in some areas like the one stretching from Rajabala to Gudibala — where the repair work was recently carried out — did not last even a month. The organization urged the government to blacklist the contractor for the poor quality work.

“It’s better to cancel the license of such a contractor to send the stern warning to other contractors as well not to carry out such poor quality road construction in the future,” the ACHDO said.
