Baby League in Shillong

SHILLONG, May 24: First ever Baby League launched in Meghalaya by Tata Trusts, Meghalaya Football Association and the All India Football Federation for the development of competitive grassroots football in the State.

The MBL was kicked off with great fanfare in Shillong with 12 teams comprising of young children in the age group of 4-13 years.

The Meghalaya Baby League was inaugurated by the chief guest Banteidor Lyngdoh, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Wednesday.

Kushal Das, General Secretary, AIFF, Biswanath Sinha, Zonal Head - East and North East, Tata Trusts, Larsing M Sawyan, President, MFA and the AIFF Vice-President, were some of the other dignitaries present. The owners and managers of the 12 teams, including Meghalaya football icon Eugeneson Lyngdoh were also at the launch.
