Bharat Bandh fails to make impact in State

SHILLONG: The Congress sponsored Bharat bandh failed to make its impact in Meghalaya on Monday.

Bandh as a culture has already been banned in the State both by the legislature and the judiciary. Notwithstanding, the signs of protest in the form of shut down or other forms of protest by the common man is merely seen as a grumble against the hike in fuel price that is likely to hit the common man hard.

Normal life was not affected through the bandh period in the entire state. However, the Congress party made its presence felt by showcasing it’s numerical numbers with a high decibel voice to decry the NDA regime at the Centre.

Led by the AICC General Secretary In-charge of the North East, Edurado Feilro along with the leader of the opposition Mukul Sangma, a march was taken out from Kyndialad to the Congress Bhavan. On arriving at the Congress Bhavan, the speeches is in line with the Congress diatribe against the NDA government. Feliro said, “The NDA government has promised the sky and what they sold and sold in terms of our fuel is taken us to a different limits of acceptance.”
