Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Refutes Closure Reports

Shillong: “Certain reports in some sections of the media are conveying the impression that BSNL may be closed down. The reports of BSNL closing down are baseless and false. On the contrary, the Government of India recognizes Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited as a strategic PSU serving vital organizations like Defence, Ministry of Finance, etc. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is also serving all public and private banks in the country.

The Department of Telecommunication (DoT) values the inherent strength of BSNL as a telecom provider with huge infrastructure and reach including rural areas. Further, DoT is in the process of finalizing a proposal for revival of Bharat Sanchar Nigam, ” said B Chandra Sehkar, CGMT, BSNL, NE-1 Circle.

He further stated that Bharat Sanchar Nigam is committed to serving its customers and is making all efforts to upgrade the mobile network, Bharat fibre and also launched new services like wings, satellite phones, etc.
