SHILLONG: The Meghalaya unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) refused to tone down its criticism against the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) while speaking on elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC).

Taking from where it left in attacking the NPP-led executive committee (EC) in the GHADC, BJP spokesperson Bernard N Marak on Friday stated the MDA should not postpone the GHADC election if they claim there is no corruption in the institution.

"People want the election to be held in time because people are fed up with rampant corruption in Garo Hills. The BJP at the Centre wants corruption-free governance in all the states of India," Marak said.
