BJP MLA Sanbor Shullai meets Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju in New Delhi

SHILLONG: BJP MLA Sanbor Shullai met Union Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Kiren Rijiju at his New Delhi residence and apprised him of political developments in Meghalaya and urged for more support for the National Games 2022 saying “the image of the State is at stake”.

This would include development of the Shillong Cantonment Ground for the National Games 2022 and the welfare of the civilians residing in Shillong Cantonment area.

The MLA urged Rijiju to organize future youth development programmes to be funded by the Central Government. In this regard, various stakeholders of society – social welfare societies and sports clubs can be involved for the implementation of such programmes, the MLA said.

The MLA urged the minister to support a programme to connect job providers and job seekers so that the local youth can get benefit from such an initiative.

The MLA sought party support to organize youth development programmes in 19 South Shillong constituency as a start to such initiatives.
