TURA: The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal continued his tirade against the twin evil of nepotism and corruption as he vehemently called upon people to vote for BJP whose only agenda is peace and progress of Meghalaya. The senior leader of BJP was addressing poll rallies at Tikrikilla and Jonglapara.
The rallies witnessed huge public participation as the senior BJP leader campaigned for Rahinath Barchung contesting from the Tikrikilla (ST) LAC; Benedic Marak contesting from Raksamgre (ST) LAC; Sukharam K. Sangma from Resubelpara (ST) LAC and Sengnab Ch. Momin from Mendipathar (ST) LAC.
Speaking on the occasion, Sonowal said, “People of Meghalaya were ripped off development and progress by the twin evil of nepotism and rampant corruption. People deserve better as India under Modi government is working diligently to become an Atmanirbhar Bharat in this Amrit Kaal. Meghalaya, with its rich natural beauty and resources, diverse talent pool, is poised to unlock a tremendous opportunity to progress and develop.”
He further said, “The BJP has been working diligently to wipe out corruption from our lives and empowering talent to make nepotism irrelevant. BJP is the only alternative to weed out these twin evils from Meghalaya. The NPP government and previously Congress government were both corrupt and nepotistic. We know how these twin evils once dominated the national narrative but due to the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi and his welfare schemes for the betterment of society and empowerment of people, those who live by these twin evils, have become peripheral.”
Pitching for the BJP government in Meghalaya, Sonowal added, “People of Meghalaya, you must vote BJP for peace and development. You must vote BJP for social security. By voting BJP to government in Meghalaya, the non-stop development of Modi government will amp up opportunities in the state and serve the aspirations of the people.”
