Cleanliness drive conducted by Border Security Forces (BSF)

SHILLONG: Border Security Forces (BSF) conducted a cleaning drive near Golf Link, Mawlai road on Tuesday morning.

The chief guest Health Minister of Meghalaya AL Hek inaugurated the campaign near Golf Ground, Shillong and congratulated the BSF for organizing such social campaigns and appreciated the work done by sentinels of the border for the people of Shillong. AL Hek donated rupees one crore on behalf of Meghalaya government for development of the Golf Course in Shillong. During the campaign of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, more than 500 Border Security Forces troopers carried out cleanliness drive with local inhabitants of Polo area.

Different activities like Systematic Waste Disposal Plan (Separation of Organic & Inorganic Waste), community awareness on cleanliness and on plastic free environment were carried out. BSF, Meghalaya has so far organized such campaigns along the border belt which included programmes at Dawki, Lynkghat, Re-Wai among others.
