Shillong:

Two localities in Meghalaya, Police Bazaar and Keating Road, have been 100% vaccinated, announced Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma.

All the residents, shopkeepers and staff of two of the busiest localities in Shillong received both doses of the coronavirus vaccine.

"2 localities in Zone 3- Police Bazaar and Keating Road have finished 100% vaccination for all residents as well as shopkeepers and staff, keeping customers' safety first in Shillong's shopping hub in the heart of the city," Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma tweeted.

Meanwhile, Meghalaya Congress leader Ampareen Lyngdoh has objected to the Chief Minister's assertion, claiming that residents of Police Bazaar and Keating Road have yet to get vaccines.

This is incorrect @SangmaConrad @CMO_Meghalaya - the area is in my Constituency and residents have informed me that they are yet to be vaccinated. A resident even sent me her token to say her slot is still pending," tweeted the Congress leader.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 vaccination has been administered to a total of 6,29,034 individuals in Meghalaya.

On Wednesday, 11,562 of them were immunised against the deadly infectious viral disease.

In other news, The Meghalaya High Court has ordered that all shops, business establishments, and commercial vehicles in the state post the COVID-19 vaccination status of their employees in a "conspicuous" area so that consumers may make an informed decision before using their services.

The court, which filed a suo moto PIL in the interest of the general public, also warned harsh punishment for anyone involved in disseminating misinformation about the vaccination campaign.
