Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister and the National President of the National People’s Party (NPP) dodged questions related to the two Congress Members of Parliament (MPs) accompanying him when he submitted his resignation letter at the office of the Lok Sabha Speaker.
The Congress MPs from Meghalaya – Vincent Pala of the Lok Sabha and Wansuk of the Rajya Sabha - were seen in a photograph before Conrad entered LS Speaker Sumitara Mahajan chamber. Asked by The Sentinel on Wednesday, how this political camaraderie with Congress leaders could be interpreted, Conrad K Sangma stated, “You read the way you wanted to read it.” Pushed further with a question on whether Vincent Pala will join the NPP, the response was “You should have to ask him.” Barely ten days ago, the two-time Congress MP from Shillong constituency attended a NPP tea party to celebrate Conrad K Sangma’s victory and his pictures with the NPP women’s wing have also gone viral. Wansuk Syiem, the Rajya Sabha MP is the new entrant into the visible photographs. Going by the visible trend, the hobnobbing by sworn political rivals has stem up in the state ahead of the 2019 elections.
