Congress MLAs in Touch with Me: Meghalaya Health Minister AL Hek

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Health Minister AL Hek has stated that MLAs from the Congress party have been approaching him.

Speaking to a couple of reporters, Hek said, “The Congress MLAs have from time and again approached me to join the BJP.”

He said the MLAs are only awaiting to get the numbers so that the anti defection law does not apply.

“There are about six to eight MLAs at present who has been in touch with the party but I have told them to achieve the magic number first to join the party,” he said.

AL Hek said the BJP will welcome any MLA from any political party be it from the Congress or other parties.

“Our doors are always open and we will welcome anyone who wants to join the party but they must first get the magic number,” he said.
