Congress not in alliance with Peoples Democratic Alliance : Congress MLA PT Sawkmei

SHILLONG, July 24: Congress MLA, who is also an MDC in the KHADC, PT Sawkmei on Tuesday said that the party is not in alliance with the Peoples Democratic Alliance (PDA) in the district council.

“We (Congress) are not in any alliance with the PDA; however we will remain in the opposition in the KHADC along with the PDA,” Sawkmei said.

It may be mentioned that the Congress has four MDCs in the KHADC which include Lamphrang Blah, who is also leader of the Congress Parliamentary Party in the Council, Kimfa M Marbaniang, Donevan Wanlang and Process T Sawkmie

Sawkmei also urged the CEM of KHADC HS Shylla to put pressure on the state government on the issue of MUDA, not to issue NOC for any railway project and to support the efforts of the state government on the issue of Sweepers Lane.
